How's your Spy Ware?
Don't have any? Think again
Spy ware is/are
small programs that get embedded in your
computer without your knowledge from
websites you visit. They can track most
EVERYTHING you do on your computer and
report back to their host. They can
reveal what sites you visit, how long
you stay, what pages you look at, even
how often you visit that site.
How can you find
out how many spy ware programs are
running on your PC?
Here are the
symptoms I noticed.
- My computer was
running slower and slower and slower.
- Pages took forever to load.
- I got emails from people and sites I
had never visited.
- Links showed up in My Favorites from
nowhere.
What can you do
about it?
You can wipe them
off instantly, ….and repeat the exercise
daily.

automatically and works very well. I've
been using it for about a year and a
half and can thoroughly recommend it.
There are others too..but I'm familiar
with this one.
When I first used it I had 133 different
spy ware programs running simultaneously
on my laptop…no wonder it was running
slow.

I got some calls and
some emails about my recommendation for
loading an Anti-Spy Ware program onto
your computer. Seems like I created an
illusion that I actually KNOW something
about computers! I know little, all
self-taught by trial and error….mainly
error. I'm marginally ahead of 'muppet'
in the IT ratings of computer nerds.
BUT, I do manage to find out interesting
information from time to time. This is
one of those times!
There are a TON of anti-spy ware
programs out there. Unfortunately, it
seems that the very people who provide
many of these programs are the
unscrupulous folks you are trying to
avoid. They sell you an anti-spy ware
program that when loaded onto your
computer, adds all kinds of spy ware and
does all the things that you are trying
to PREVENT!
So what is the average 'muppet' supposed
to do? Check out this site, it will
explain what I'm talking about here and
give you a complete list of all the spy
ware to avoid and those that are legit.

Fortuitously the company I recommended
www.lavasoft.com comes out very
well. The product that I referred to is
Ad-Aware and is a free download. It
works great!
